After 7 years, the Taiwan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy sign will be coming down this afternoon. I thank all the instructors that have helped to lead the school along the way, Andy Wang Pedro SchmallDustin ThorntonVaughn Anderson David Sinclair, and of course each of the members for their heart and sweat. With Makoto Ogasawara andChristopher Ng at the helm and Josie Ao as the General Manager, we are heading into 2015 with high hopes and aspirations to bringing BJJ to more people in Taiwan. A new Taiwan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy sign will be put up at the new location signifying a new year and new things to come. For the past 11 years, with the help of so many, we have addicted many with the BJJ "bug" through demos, instructions, interviews, press, and tournaments. Our plan is of course to continue this purpose and journey for the future development of this sport in Taiwan.
WIth any move comes changes; changes of course are inevitable because we have outgrown our current location and status. Changes that I feel is crucial in growing and promoting BJJ in Taiwan. Certain rules put in place that were already known but never written down. Rules that 90% of the BJJ schools around the schools follow, yet we were too laxed about. Rules are put in place to provide a better environment and fairness for everyone training at the academy.(ie. don't you hate it when your rolling partner wears a dirty stinky gi to class, or has cuts/wounds/athelet's foot; or the fact that some members don't pay dues fo 6months, but you are?) I feel rules, before only said, but now written down in black and white are necessary to have everyone on the same page. I hope everyone can believe in our mission to grow the BJJ community. My purpose and goal has never changed nor altered, I wish everyone will continue to believe in the Academy and our passion to continue being one of the top BJJ schools in Asia. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. and I look fowarding to seeing everyone at the opening next Sunday.

Warren Wang
